    The Plan

Each week we’ll provide one topic taken from four different focus areas: evangelism, missions, personal development, and adventure. The lesson plans alternate so that week one covers evangelism, week two explores missions, week three focuses on personal development, and week four takes on adventure.

Writers for the 2011-2012 lessons include the following.

Tim Shamburger works with youth in his home church in Parma, Ohio, and is a dad to three youth, T.J., Josh and Sarah, and husband to Debbie.

Dr. Jeff Wallace is married to Cecilia. They have four children. Jeff is currently Minister of Global Outreach/55+ at Lone Oak First Baptist Church in Paducah, Ky. Part of his responsibility includes helping to lead the overall Acts 1:8 strategy of the church. He is a former Royal Ambassador, Missionary Journeyman to Thailand (IMB), and Career Missionary to Spain with Cecilia (IMB).

Brian Spearman is the Student Pastor of youth and children at Marietta First Baptist Church in Marietta, S.C. He is married to Angela, and they have two sons, Nathanael and James-Patrick.

Larry Yarborough pastors First Baptist Church in Gallatin, Tennessee just outside of Nashville. He has served with many of our Southern Baptist missionaries on short-term mission assignments here in North America and around the world in places like Hong Kong, Singapore and Ecuador. Larry and his wife, Diana, have two teenage sons who are actively involved in missions through the local church.

Jack Blankenship is the Campus Minister with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Winthrop University in South Carolina. He loves Jesus, his family, and seeing teenagers follow Jesus with all of their hearts.

    Evangelism

Help your Challengers learn how to share their faith or improve their methods of evangelism. Whether your guys are solid Christians, new believers, or you have one or two that do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ, guys will discover that evangelism can be fun and creative. Evangelism training can also be a non-threatening way to present the gospel. Evangelism > >

    Missions

What truly sets Challengers apart is the focus on missions. Guys will understand they have a personal role in Acts 1:8. You will hear from missionaries in the field and your Challengers will discover how they can be involved in ministry and missions today. Missions > >

    Personal Development

You’ll be dealing with some practical, current issues that will help your Challengers prepare for a missional lifestyle. Bringing biblical answers to real-world issues may be one of the most important things you do with your Challengers. But just like the other sessions, it won’t all be deep subjects and hard lessons. You will find fun and exciting sessions, too, designed to keep your Challengers interested and coming back for more. Personal Development > >

    Adventure

Adventure is close to the heart of all teens, and not just outdoor and extreme sports. This is another opportunity to have fun and embrace where God will lead Challengers to explore their world. You’ll find some new and exciting ideas to expand your Challengers’ horizons, such as building a soap box derby car or survival training. Adventure  > >
